VIENNA SHORTS is an international short film festival, founded in 2004 and taking place each spring. The festival celebrates the diversity of short film in cinemas all around Vienna and presents about 300 films. It offers a vibrant platform for exchange, featuring Q&As, talks, industry & talent days, panels, concerts, and much more. As a fair festival, it places great value on a responsible, transparent approach to everyone involved as well as on ecological sustainability. VIENNA SHORTS is a qualifying festival for the Austrian Film Award, the BAFTA, the European Film Awards, and the Academy Awards©.

Max Bergmann

(Artistic Director)

Max Bergmann is a film scholar and the artistic director of the international short film festival VIENNA SHORTS, where he previously worked as curator and head of cooperations. In his recent PhD dissertation in Film and Media Studies, he focused on nonlinear narration, Internet culture, and digitalization in 21st-century cinema.
