Italian Short Film Center

Italy

agency

Founded in 2007 as an agency and archive for the promotion of Italian short film, the Italian Short Film Center soon became the main project of AIACE (Associazione Italiana Amici del Cinema d’Essai), an association for the promotion of cinema culture founded in Rome in 1962 and based in Turin since the 1990s.

The activities of the Italian Short Film Center include:
– Information on short film sector opportunities, resources, programmes for Italian and foreign short film talents.
– Analysis and reporting on the Italian and international short film sector.
– Promotion of Italian short films abroad thanks to long-standing dialogues with Italian Diplomatic Missions, festivals, and international markets
– Development of short film projects thanks to the industry event organized by the Center in Turin from 2016, previously known as TSFM and, since 2024, as ShorTO Film Market
– Preservation and enhancement of Italian short film through an archive of hundreds of short films and film-related resources.

The Italian Short Film Center is a member of the global short film organization Short Film Conference, the European short film and video art distribution network Short Circuit, and of the CICAE (Confédération Internationale des Cinémas d’Art ed d’Essai).

Its staff is member of European Women’s Audiovisual Network.

The Italian Short Film Center launched a strategic plan in 2024 that will end in 2027, coinciding with two key anniversaries: the 65th anniversary of the foundation of the AIACE association and the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Center.
