Interaction: Short Doc Film Festival is an international festival dedicated to short creative documentaries, established in 2022. Each August in Serbia, it presents a carefully curated programme of original and innovative short documentaries in three sections: Competition, In Focus and Interscreen. The programme also features Meet2Talk, a dynamic industry platform for exchange and networking, as well as a non-competitive XR programme exploring extended and virtual reality in documentary storytelling. The festival is part of the broader Interaction platform, organized by Independent Film Centre Filmart since 2006. Each summer, Interaction gathers more than a hundred emerging and established documentary filmmakers and experts from around the world through three core training programmes – Interaction: Student Film Camp, Interaction: Doc Workshop, and Interaction: Teen Doc – creating a unique environment where documentary production, education and presentation come together.

– Best Film Award
This award is given to the best film from the competition programme, and awarded by a three-member international jury. The award will be given to the film’s director(s) and, apart from the statute, includes a cash award sponsored by a festival partner.
– Special Mention
The Jury, at its discretion, also has the option of handing out Special Mention to only one film.
– Youth Jury Award
A youth jury, consisting of Interaction: Teen Doc Workshop participants, will decide on the winner of this award. The award will be given to the film’s director.
– Audience Award
The audience rates all the films from the competition and interscreen programme and the highest-rated one will receive the Audience Award.

Dejan Petrović
(Artistic Director)
Screenwriter and director of several short documentary films, and producer of over 60 short documentaries. Founder and director of the IFC Filmart which realizes several projects, including the Interaction. He is also the artistic director and programmer of the Interaction: Short Docs Film Festival. He works as a full professor in the Film and Television Directing program at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade. He is a member of the Association DokSerbia – Documentary Filmmakers of Serbia. His documentary films have been shown at numerous festivals worldwide – IDFA, Visions du Reel, Dok Leipzig, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen, Busan International Short Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Dokufest, ZagrebDox, and others. The film Adjusting was nominated for the prestigious Doc Alliance Award in 2023. He has won over 25 awards at film festivals in the country and abroad.
