FeKK – Ljubljana International Short Film Festival

Slovenia

festival

FeKK – Ljubljana Short Film Festival (FeKK) is an international film festival which takes place every end of August in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. The festival was established by an enthusiastic group of young film critics and cinephiles in 2015 and rapidly became the largest short film festival in Slovenia. Even though the competition programmes are being focused on film productions from the countries of former Yugoslavia the festival brings a wide selection of different curated sections which vary from retrospectives of established authors to thematic and historical short film programmes. An essential part of FeKK is also a diverse industry programme and a screenwriting workshop called Short Scene.

The festival is organized by Kraken Short Film Promotion Society which promotes and fosters the growth of Slovenian short film scene, alongside with programming and advising for various other festivals and cinema oriented venues. Kraken strives to establish a frequent programme scheme of shorts from all around the world together with the plan of educating audiences on the specifics and the idiosyncrasies of the short film form, as well as uniting film authors, theoreticians, producers and distributors from the region.
